The Heidi Horten Jewelry Collection

An Unparalleled Collection of Jewellery

In May of this year, 2023, Christie’s in Geneva will offer the largest and most valuable private collection of jewels ever to come to auction, the collection of Heidi Horten.

Heidi Horten (1941-2022) has been described as one of the most important figures in the history of jewellery collecting. Her private collection of jewels sets her apart from everyone else.

Q: The question asked by Town & Country magazine is, “Will this be the Biggest Jewelry Sale in History?”

A. Most likely. Christie’s notes that Elizabeth Taylor’s collection, currently the most valuable collection sold at auction, brought $145 million. The Horten sale is anticipated to bring far north of $150 million.

Let’s take a look at just a couple of the jewels she has owned and that will be up for auction

Here we have the Harry Winston briolette. The ‘Briolette of India’ diamond necklace features the Harry Winston diamond briolette weighing in at 90.38 carats, and that is not counting the diamond necklace.

One of many Bvlgari pieces coming to auction is this diamond, sapphire and emerald necklace, set with a 46.56-carat round brilliant-cut diamond at its centre.

This will be a jaw-dropping auction catalogue!
