JOGS Tucson Gem & Jewelry Fall Show Opens September 3
Thought Tucson was only a February thing?
Not quite.
The JOGS Tucson Gem & Jewelry Fall Show returns to the Tucson Expo Center September 3–6, giving buyers another opportunity to head to Tucson — this time just in time to stock up for the holiday season.
The Fall show is smaller and more focused than Tucson’s enormous winter gathering, but there’s still plenty to see, especially if you are within easy traveling distance.
JOGS brings together exhibitors from more than 26 countries, with loose gemstones, organic gems — or “biogenic gem materials,” as CIBJO refers to them — minerals, fine and designer jewelry, beads, cabochons, rough, lapidary supplies, findings, tools, gemstone carvings and more.
And, naturally, we’re looking at the gems.
Among the specialized areas are the Southwest Pavilion, with turquoise and Native American jewelry; the Amber Pavilion, featuring Baltic amber from Polish and Lithuanian manufacturers; and the Indonesian Pavilion, with handcrafted jewelry from Bali.
For retailers, the timing may be just as important as what’s on the show floor. Early September puts JOGS squarely ahead of the fourth-quarter holiday selling season — an opportunity to replenish inventory, find something new, and buy directly from miners, manufacturers and dealers.
And a Little Gemology, Too
JOGS may be primarily about buying and selling, but there is a little gem education on the schedule as well.

Aurei has built a following by teaching rather than simply selling. She’ll talk about how educational content became the foundation of her brand — and how her background in gemology, fashion design, 3D CAD and hands-on jewelry industry experience helped create opportunities that no single skill might have opened.

Is That Stone Real? A Hands-On Intro to Gem Testing
Now we’re talking gemology.
Aurei introduces attendees to basic gemstone testing, with particular attention to one of the gemologist’s most useful instruments — the refractometer.
She’ll demonstrate how refractive-index readings are taken using actual gemstones and explain how basic testing techniques can help buyers make more informed purchasing decisions.
No gemological experience or equipment is required.

The show is open to qualified wholesale buyers as well as the public. Wholesale buyers should bring their business/resale license and tax ID for registration.
