Seminar: The Origin of Color of Fancy Color Diamonds

After a successful first seminar on the topic of synthetic diamonds back on June of this year (see image below), Dr. Thomas Hainschwang of GGTL Liechtenstein and GGTL Belgium will give a one hour seminar on September 6, on the origin of color of fancy color diamonds.
For anybody involved in the fancy color diamond trade, the question whether a colored diamond is naturally colored or whether the color has been altered by a treatment is of utmost importance. A lot of confusion on the issue exists, particularly when diamonds with irradiation-related colors are concerned [e.g. green to green-blue to yellow-green color].
The venue has been organized by the Vrije Diamanthandel and the presentation will cover all the important issues about the color origin of fancy color diamond, in all colors.
The goal of this presentation is to separate myths from facts on colored diamonds, and to explain and demonstrate the complications that can occur when testing fancy color diamonds.
Amongst these, Hainschwang will be talking in great detail on the serious problems and frustrations that many face when trying to get a lab report for green to green-blue to yellow-green diamonds.
GGTL has opened a fully equipped gem testing lab at the Diamantclub in 2022, where – amongst other tasks – they perform analysis of fancy color diamonds in all sizes and colors.

Next Wednesday June 14 at 11am I will be giving a talk on synthetic diamonds at the Diamantclub van Antwerpen, Pelikaanstraat 62 in Antwerp. The venue has been organized by the Vrije Diamanthandel and the 1 hour talk will be cover all the important issues about synthetic diamond in all colors and also diamond imitations and how they relate to the current market.
The goal of this presentation is to clarify facts about synthetic diamonds, the role of a capable gem testing lab, and to explain the capabilities and limitations of the many instruments that consumers, dealers and manufacturers have been bombarded with in the past years.
GGTL has opened a fully equipped gem testing lab at the Diamantclub in 2022, where – amongst other tasks – the detection of synthetic diamond and diamond imitation particularly in melee diamond in all colors is one of our major specialities.
