Sotheby’s said Thursday it will offer a group of eight Fancy blue diamonds that will be sold across its Magnificent Jewels auctions in New York, Geneva and Hong Kong beginning in November through the Spring of 2023. Named “The De Beers Exceptional Blue Collection,” this group of rare Fancy Colored diamonds has a combined total value of more than $70 million, the auction house said. However, the high estimate for the eight gems is $84.8 million.
Sotheby’s in a statement said the diamonds exhibit “superb hues, even color distribution and saturation” that makes it one of the “rarest and most notable collections of colored diamonds in the world.”
