The headline-grabbing engagement ring—a large oval brilliant cut diamond,
has been estimated by numerous “jewelry experts” to weigh between 20 and 50 carats
with a guesstimated value of up to $5 million! – All speculation.
Cristiano Ronaldo is a legendary Portuguese footballer (soccer, not American football), considered to be one of the greatest players of all time, having played for top clubs like Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and now currently representing Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia. He led Portugal to victory at Euro 2016 and won the UEFA Nations League in both 2019 and 2025.
Ronaldo’s fiancée, Georgina Rodríguez, is an Argentine‑Spanish model, influencer, entrepreneur, and producer. The two met at a Gucci boutique in Madrid, where she worked as a sales assistant—an encounter both have described as “love at first sight.” She has since built a career through fashion ventures, brand collaborations, and the Netflix docuseries I Am Georgina.
The Engagement Ring
After nearly eight years together, Cristiano finally proposed to Georgina this month, August, 2025. The couple confirmed the engagement publicly via Instagram, posting an image of the engagement ring that has gone viral! (see image above)
Most of the news has been speculating about the size of the diamond, and how much it may have cost. At this point in time, there is no official notice as to any specifics about the ring, other than knowing it features an oval-cut diamond.

With Ronaldo being Portuguese, we reached out to our Portuguese friend, well-respected gemmologist, independent gem education consultant, and author, Rui Galopim de Carvalho to see if he had heard anything about the diamond ring.
