Outstanding: Elsa Jin's awesome Swan Lake brooch featuring a 5.3-carat natural fancy green diamond.

The 2026 Met Gala turned into a full-scale showcase of men’s high jewelry moments. Black tuxedos became the perfect backdrop for seriously jaw-dropping pieces.

Among the standout jewels was Elsa Jin’s Swan Lake inspired diamond brooch. Worn by Adrien Brody (best known for roles in The Pianist – 2002, as Pat Riley in HBO’s Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty – 2022–2023, and The Brutalist – 2024), it features a magnificent 5.3-carat natural fancy green diamond, accented by 11.97-carats of melee, all set in Jin’s signature titanium (see below).

Connor Storrie (best known for his role as Ilya Rozanov in the Canadian sports romance TV series Heated Rivalry, and a house ambassador for Tiffany & Co.) made his Met Gala debut wearing a Tiffany & Co. Jean Schlumberger Fleurage brooch, set with a 3-carat round faceted rubellite.

Storrie was also wearing a Tiffany & Co. jabot pin from the upcoming Blue Book 2026: Hidden Garden collection. [A Jabot Pin is a double-ended jeweled pin.] The pin featured two large cabochon rubellites – one at either end, totaling more than 14 carats, with each surrounded by diamonds.

Nicholas Hoult, best known for his roles as Hank McCoy/Beast in the X-Men film franchise, also turned to Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany, wearing the “Sticks” brooch centered around a vivid 27+ carat spessartine garnet accented by carnelian “sticks” and diamonds. Strong color appeared throughout the evening, and major houses like Tiffany clearly embraced it.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, internationally known Hollywood action movie star and legendary professional wrestler, came polished, wearing a beautiful Manish Malhotra MM emerald and diamond brooch. [You’ll have to click thru to WWWJ to see.]

Devin Finzer, CEO of OpenSea and best known for NFT trading, wore a 1932 rock crystal, aquamarine, and diamonds brooch, sourced from 10 Vendome.

Law Roach, celebrity stylist and fashion personality, arrived dressed as Law Roach the celebrity, wearing a massive 53-carat Leviev emerald-cut diamond ring reportedly valued at $1.8 million. Large statement diamonds are always eye-catching.

Adrien Brody, best known for his Best Actor roles in The Pianist (2002) and The Brutalist (2024), wore Elsa Jin’s Swan Lake titanium and diamond brooch that helped him stand out, even more than him being an Oscar winner.

Jin’s Swan Lake is a magnificent pair of diamond wings, dripping with even more diamonds, and presenting a 5.3-carat fancy green pear shape diamond.

Elegance in motion. Art meets excess. Perfect for him and perfect for the Met Gala.

The titanium and diamond brooch features flowing tassels inspired by rippling water and the movement of a swan gliding across a moonlit lake, referencing the moment Princess Odette gazes into her reflection beneath the moonlight.

The finished piece combines a 5.3-carat green diamond, nearly 12 carats of near colorless diamonds, with titanium construction.

David Webb also emerged as one of the evening’s dominant jewelry houses. Adam Baidawi, editor-in-chief of GQ – Gentlemen’s Quarterly magazine, doubled down on drama with two David Webb Museum Collection brooches set with emeralds, sapphires, and diamonds, proving tuxedos are really just a canvas for serious jewels.

Australian filmmaker Baz Luhrmann, best known for making Strictly Ballroom (1992), Romeo + Juliet (1996), and the Oscar-winning Moulin Rouge! (2001), embraced David Webb’s signature boldness with turquoise, onyx, diamonds, and sculptural floral motifs that felt distinctly Webb: colorful, unapologetic, and theatrical. Few jewelry houses could pair more naturally with Baz Luhrmann than David Webb.

Rami Malek, best known for his Oscar-winning portrayal of Queen lead singer Freddie Mercury in the biographical film Bohemian Rhapsody (2018), may have been somewhat subdued, wearing a quieter but equally thoughtful pairing: Cartier’s iconic Crash watch alongside a Victorian diamond star brooch.

Maybe not as bold as some others at the gala, the juxtaposition of surreal 1960s watch design with antique jewelry captured another emerging trend from the evening — the blending of eras, where contemporary tailoring meets vintage and archival jewelry.

If the Met Gala proved anything this year, it’s that a black tuxedo may be the perfect backdrop for colored gemstones and a really good brooch.
