At this year’s Singapore International Jewelry Expo (SIJE) 2024, Italian jewellery was highlighted in High Jewellery – as well as a fashion show. The showcase of important jewellery pieces of breath-taking rarity and value at SIJE 2024 boosts the show’s status. The launch of the Italian pavilion provides a strengthening of Singapore’s status as a jewellery hub in the region, and will certainly help increase Italian and European exports to Singapore and the larger ASEAN region.

Italy Presents Jewels of Italy at SIJE 2024
> Strengthening trade ties between Italy and Singapore
> Strengthening Singapore’s jewellery hub status
> Boosting Italian and European exports to Singapore and the ASEAN region

On July 11, Italy officially opened its first-ever dedicated Italian Pavilion at the 19th edition of the Singapore International Jewelry Expo (SIJE) at the Sands Expo Convention Centre, located at the iconic Marina Bay Sands Singapore. Full disclosure: SIJE 2024 is organised by IEG Asia. [IEG Asia is a fully owned subsidiary of the Italian Exhibition Group, which has developed a global network that attracts, supports and promotes the Group’s key exhibitions industries around the world.]

This year, there was a stronger presence of master jewellers at the Italian Pavilion, made possible in part by the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), underscoring Italy’s commitment to fostering strong business relationships and enhancing commercial ties.

Italy’s Show Pavilion
The Italian Pavilion was designated a grand highlight at SIJE, featuring 14 renowned master jewellers from Italy. These artisans were showcasing their stunning collections, and demonstrating the exquisite craftsmanship and innovative designs that Italian jewellery is famous for.

There were other Italian brands that have consistently showcased at SIJE in past years, such as Leonori, Massimo Raiteri, Ora d’Italia (comprising nine brands), and Zydo. This brought the total number of Italian brands at SIJE 2024 to more than 20.

SIJE 2024 is considered Singapore’s most prestigious and longest-running jewellery show in the region. It plays host to more than 300 brands from 28 countries. The inclusion of the Italian Pavilion added a touch of European flair.

Opportunities for Made-in-Italy Jewellery in Singapore and the Regional Jewellery Market
According to MadeInItaly.gov.it, Italian jewellery exports reached remarkable heights in 2023, making Italy the second-largest jewellery exporter to Singapore within the European Union Countries.

Needless to say, Italy and Singapore are good business partners. “Italy’s unwavering commitment to excellence in the jewellery industry and its deep connection with the discerning tastes of the Singaporean market are well-known. Italy’s legacy of exceptional jewellery design, coupled with the growing demand for our creations in the Singapore market, is testament to the unparalleled quality and authenticity of our products,” says Dante Brandi, Italian Ambassador to Singapore and Brunei.

The show displays a stately collection of jewellery and gemstones worth more than USD $250 million, reflecting SIJE’s status as the jewellery hub of the region.
