In another sign the business disruption caused by the pandemic has subsided in Asia, two large and important jewelry industry trade fairs are scheduled to return in 2023.
Arguably, the world’s largest jewelry trade fair prior to the pandemic, Jewellery & Gem WORLD Hong Kong (JGW), formerly known as the September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair, will return to its original two-venue format and staggered date system.
The portion of the show for finished jewelry, packaging solutions, tools and equipment, and jewelry industry-related technologies will be held September 20 – 24 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). Meanwhile, the jewelry materials section of the show will be held September 18 – 22 at AsiaWorld-Expo (AWE). The fair will be celebrating its 40th anniversary next year and show organizers say a series of celebrations are being planned.
In addition, Jewellery & Gem ASIA Hong Kong (JGA), previously known as the June Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair, will be held live and in person June 22 – 25, 2023. Both fairs are owned and operated by Informa Markets Jewellery, a division of London-based Informa Markets, a trade show and trade publishing company.
“We look forward to hosting the greatest in jewelry and gemstones back in Hong Kong in 2023 as pandemic restrictions recede,” David Bondi, senior VP of Informa Markets in Asia, said in a statement. “What the last three years have proven is that the jewelry sourcing experience is just not the same without our full-fledged, international B2B fairs in Hong Kong. Our jewelry community wants the shows. So, we are pulling out all the stops to make sure we deliver the fairs in their most familiar form next year.”
