“I have another image for you,” says Sammantha Maclachlan.
We love this …
“Today was a special day… Gemmologists know that there are some gemstones or effects that we will see just a handful of times in our careers,” as Maclachlan was keenly aware. So what did she see? A Colombian emerald with an unusual growth pattern.
“Today, a ring came to me for valuation, and instantly I knew I had to get it under the microscope. That velvety look to this Colombian emerald told me I was going to see something special.” And she was right.
“Here is a candid shot made up of a stack of just 4 images (due to time restrictions) of the wonderful Gota de Aceite effect, which can be read about right here.”
