The Ethical Gem Fair Brooklyn is set to take place at Brooklyn Metal Works, a metalsmithing studio and gallery located in Brooklyn, New York.
This event is exclusively for trade, inviting trade members along with students and metalsmiths from Brooklyn Metal Works. Registrations for the Ethical Gem Fair are free.
The Ethical Gem Suppliers will host a series of educational conversations on Thursday, October 9 and Friday, October 10 from 11am-12pm. These conversations are free and open to the public
The Ethical Gem Suppliers form a collective of gem dealers dedicated to fostering transparent supply chains that uplift artisanal mining and cutting communities worldwide.
Beyond selling gemstones, their mission includes educating both the industry and consumers about responsible sourcing practices. Their sourcing spans across dozens of gem varieties and various regions such as Australia, Brazil, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, and the United States, among others. They responsibly source through:
◈ promoting health and safety at mine and supplying SCS-certified recycled diamonds and gemstones
◈ supporting artisanal miners and their communities
◈ providing gemstones with verifiable origins and full traceability
◈ committing to fair pay and fair treatment for everyone involved in the supply chain
◈ adhering to clear and responsible environmental policies
