Chaumet’s Dance: the Latest High Jewellery Collection!

Of the latest Chaumet High Jewellery collections, Chaumet en Scène, [Chaumet on Stage] is their tribute to Dance. The craftsmanship and designs are outstanding, with matching quality gems.

“It’s in the workshop at 12 Place Vendôme in Paris that jewellers, setters, polishers and lapidaries have been creating Chaumet’s exceptional High Jewellery pieces for over 240 years. Collections in white gold, rose gold, yellow gold, platinum, diamonds, precious and semi-precious stones [aka beautiful and rare colored gems – gr], inspired by nature and elsewhere, carry necklaces, rings, earrings, bracelets, brooches, watches and tiaras in a unique virtuosity.”

Chaumet en Scène

“A tribute to dance, the second Chaumet en Scène tableau, features a series of choreographies in which the stones are the performers. Combining disciplines, Ceylon sapphires perform a contemporary ballet while the diamonds, tourmalines and rubellites engage in a frenzied tango, and the violet sapphires swing alongside their gold and material work.”

Two-part harmony:
Sapphires and diamonds intertwine exquisitely in perfect harmony in this heavily jeweled necklace.

“The three pieces of the set bring the sapphires and diamonds to life in a superbly fluid interplay, evoking the depth of Chaumet’s signature blue. The necklace’s particularly complex design reflects the movement inherent in Chaumet’s style. The ultimate interplay between sapphires and diamonds is also present in a ring crowned with three diamonds totaling 3.02-carats and a necklace featuring an 8.72-carat diamond pendant, creating perfect harmony.”

Tango Duet:
A popular dance born from the neighborhoods of Buenos Aires, Argentina, tango became a Parisian ballroom dance during the Belle Époque, the inspiration for a set in which the colored stones are set in spirals of gold.

Featuring five pieces, the Tango set illustrates the iconic line art that is characteristic of Chaumet creations. Like a couple passionately dancing the tango, the pear-cut and cushion-cut rubellites (pinkish-red tourmalines) and blue-green tourmalines follow on from one another, each stone set in an independent spiral, bringing the look to life. The dance continues with the chandelier earrings whose generous tourmalines, 13.44-carat rubellite and 11.20-carat indicolite gracefully intertwine.

PostModern Ballet:
“Full of movement and volume thanks to the chiseled gold highlighted with virtuoso setting, the set is reminiscent of a ballet in which the dancers twirl in turn.”

“Carried by the rhythm, the Ballet pieces embody the same creative freedom that the Maison holds so dear. A necklace envelops the neck with its spiraling structure, animated by a palpable energy. The enameling allows each white gold petal to rival the same technical skill of the ‘eagle’s beak’ claw setting, which unfurls a line of three beautiful cushion-cut Ceylon sapphires that range between 8.03 and 5.77 carats.”

Do it like Joséphine

“Modern and free, Empress Joséphine has inspired Chaumet’s graceful and characterful creations for over two centuries.

“The Maison’s first great client, this strong-willed woman who turned sovereign for love, has invented a style combining elegance and audacity.

“An aesthetic that drives today’s collections.

“Like sparkling droplets, the diamonds and their airy setting frame the central pear-shaped stone with dazzling light. Feminine, versatile and light, the curves of the design form an elegant head ornament.”

“A reinterpretation of the tiara ring, Joséphine Aigrette Impériale echoes lush gardens, living nature and sparkling droplets. A tribute to the empress Joséphine.”

“Chaumet has been renowned for its jewellery mastery and iconic tiaras for over 240 years. With Joséphine Soir de Fête, the Maison reinterprets its iconic pear shape. A true signature of the Maison, the fil-couteau technique makes the metal disappear in order to accentuate a perfectly symmetrical cascade of diamonds. True to our criteria of excellence, this creation is adorned with a yellow pear-shaped diamond. Rich in its unique expertise, this creation combines volume and lightness through its elegant and delicate openwork frame.”

“The Joséphine Soir de Fête collection is freely inspired by one of the Maison’s most emblematic creations: the Fuchsia tiara. The flowers’ petals are stylised, giving a deliberately modern reinterpretation of the collection’s naturalist inspiration. For more than two centuries, Chaumet has been creating sublime High Jewellery pieces, worn on special occasions and evenings of celebration.”
